It is Ladies Day, we’re using Ladies Day to shine a spotlight on female-led events in Liverpool this month

Over the years, Aintree Grand National Ladies Day has often received negative coverage in the national press. Year after year, the focus tends to fall on those who may have embraced the party spirit a little too early.

But Liverpool sees it differently.

The city celebrates everything that makes Ladies Day one of the biggest events in its calendar. Feisty, opinionated, undimmed and unafraid, Liverpool women are the DNA of this city. Just ask any scouse lad about his mum or his nan and you will hear a kind of love usually reserved only for football.

Ladies Day itself, held on 10th April 2026, remains by far the biggest, best and most sartorially elegant day of the Grand National. It is a fashion show and a party rolled into one. If you have never been, make this your year. And even if you do not have a ticket, you can still join in. Champagne breakfasts take place all across the city, so you can be there in spirit if not in person.

And that energy does not start and end at Aintree.

Ladies Day sets the tone for a season of events that celebrate women across the city. Here are some of the highlights:

Girls on the Go: Bingo at Camp and Furnace - 11th April 2026

Hosted by a women-only collective, this group runs a variety of events focused on health, wellness and building community.

Activities include walking groups, run clubs, crafts, speed-friending and bingo nights at Camp and Furnace.

Lime Garden at Jacaranda Baltic - 15th April 2026

Brighton-based band Lime Garden launch their second album on Ladies Day. The four-piece return to Liverpool, having previously launched their debut at the original Jacaranda on Slater Street.

Their new album, Maybe Not Tonight, draws inspiration from Lily Allen and has been described as a hedonistic, reckless, banger-filled ride.

Melanie C at Jacaranda Baltic and Camp and Furnace - 1st May
