Liverpool’s Biggest Battle of the Bands Returns for a Second Year, this time at Jacaranda Baltic
Warriors of Rock, Liverpool’s biggest battle of the bands, returns for its second year at Jacaranda Baltic with more slots, bigger prizes, and of course a summer of free live music for the city of Liverpool. Organised by Jacaranda Records, the team behind The Jacaranda, Liverpool’s emblem of grassroots music, the competition will span five heats, two semi-finals, and a grand final across eight dates this summer.
The stakes are high, with the winning band taking home £1,000 in cash, a headline gig slot at a future Jacaranda Records event, and a recording session with renowned producer John Withnall, whose credits include work with Coldplay, Elbow, and The Script.
Heats and semi-finals will run weekly from Friday 4th July to mid-August, with the final taking place on Saturday 30th August.
All events are completely free to attend, offering music lovers a summer-long series of live shows without the need for tickets. This makes Warriors of Rock not just a competition, but a celebration of Liverpool’s live music culture, bringing new talent and new gig-goers to the same venue that recently hosted bands like Travis, Kaiser Chiefs, Wunderhorse and Crawlers.
Bands wishing to take part must meet just two simple requirements: all members must be aged 16 or over, and each band must be able to perform four songs. Any group meeting this criteria is encouraged to apply now here.
“There are no tickets. This isn’t a battle of the bands ticket selling exercise. This is for the love of music, for us to find the next best bands in Liverpool and to give the people of Liverpool a summer of free live music!” says Graham Stanley, Managing Director of Jacaranda Records.
